Seven Seas Max Strength Omega 3 contains orange oil flavouring which is great for people who are prone to burping and want to avoid a fishy aftertaste. The full daily dose of added vitamin D (400 IU) makes it a great money-saver for some people as it’s two supplements in one. It also has an added shot of vitamin E to protect the oil from oxidation.

This product contains less than the recommended effective dose of omega 3s. The pack of 30 softgels lasts one month if you take one a day, but the label admits that for blood pressure benefits you need 3 a day. Following this advice would mean the pack would only last 10 days, representing poor value for money. Worse than this, it would give you three times the NHS recommended safe dose of vitamin D.

Orange oil makes it a good choice for people with tummy problems, but there are far more affordable options for people who are looking for the heart health benefits of a full dose of EPA and don’t want to take a riskily high dose of vitamin D. For this reason, we think there are better alternatives for most people.
